I'm a ranked artist.

Each month SKINGRAPHICA® features 1 ranked artist with a bespoke photoshoot and a long-form editorial on their career.

The feature runs on skingraphica.com, including the homepage for the month, with a set of social assets and a full marketing campaign across Google and Meta. Featured Artist articles typically attract between 150,000 and 200,000 views.

We produce each feature in direct collaboration with the artist and encourage them to use it for their own marketing and promotion. Artists receive a lifetime licence to the content at no charge.

Being ranked makes you eligible. It does not guarantee a feature. Invitations go out through the year to artists on the current lists.

Every profile carries a Request an update button. Use it whenever a fact on your profile is out of date.

Tell us the field and the new value. Studio, city, country, styles, Instagram handle and website can all be corrected. We publish the studio you work from and the city it is in. We never publish a home address, a phone number or an email address, so do not send them.

What cannot be changed on request is the record itself. Your name on the list, the year, the designation and the inspector's citation or report are editorial and stand as published. A factual error in a citation is corrected. An opinion in it is not revised.

How a change is verified before it goes live.

When a request arrives, we send a direct message from @skingraphica to the Instagram account shown on your listing, setting out the change exactly as it will appear. The change is published only when you reply to that message to confirm it. A request we cannot verify this way is not published, however it reaches us.

Your profile is a public record that other people rely on. We do not make a change we cannot confirm came from you.

The best talent in any field should be able to work and travel freely. Part of the intention of the rankings is to give tattoo artists the recognised standard that other professions already have.

Immigration authorities in many countries weigh independent evidence of extraordinary ability when they assess an application to live or work. In the United States, the O-1 visa considered by the USCIS is the clearest example. Chefs, athletes, musicians and scientists have long been able to point to recognised benchmarks in their field. Until the Global Artist Rankings, tattoo artists could not.

A ranking judged on published criteria by an independent body, with a public profile, a signed certificate and a documented assessment behind it, is the kind of evidence those authorities look for. SKINGRAPHICA® has prepared formal letters and supporting documents for ranked artists applying to the United States and other governments, and they have helped elite artists secure the right to work where their clients are.

Every ranked artist receives a ranking certificate as standard. If you are ranked in the Global Top 10 or Global Top 100, in this year or any previous year, and you need additional documentation prepared for a visa or work permit application, tell us what you need using the form, and we will come back to you with what we can provide and how long it will take.

This documentation is provided only to artists officially ranked in the Global Rankings, the Black Ivy Top 10 and the GRAPHICA Top 100. It is not provided to NOVA Rising 20 artists, who become eligible once they are ranked. Immigration decisions rest with the relevant authority. SKINGRAPHICA® provides documentation of a ranking and the assessment behind it. It does not provide immigration advice and cannot guarantee any outcome. The SKINGRAPHICA® Global Artist Rankings exist to recognise the most exceptional tattoo artists in the world, the people who have carried tattooing from a craft to a celebrated art form. They are an independent editorial initiative, curated through research, assessment and cultural insight, to document and honour excellence within the global tattoo community.

Across many industries, brands that are close to a creative field also celebrate the masters within it. L'Oréal honours inspiring women through Women of Worth. Nike showcases emerging athletes in Future 50. Red Bull recognises elite photographers through Illume. Michelin, a tyre company, created the Michelin Guide, now the most respected measure of culinary achievement in the world. In the same spirit, SKINGRAPHICA® honours artistry within tattoo culture, not for commercial gain, but to uphold the standards and the creativity that inspire our own work.

The rankings are protected as a form of editorial expression, built on the principles of fair comment and public interest that allow an organisation to recognise publicly known professionals on the basis of merit, influence and contribution. Because they are an editorial record, names are not altered or removed after publication. Each year's list captures a moment in time, and the value of the record, including the data and the trend analysis published with it, depends on the record staying whole.

We exist to care for the canvas that carries art. The rankings exist to celebrate the people who create it.
